TransitStory Talk with Artist Jill Anholt

Join Artist Jill Anholt and The City of Calgary Public Art Conservator Lisa Isley for a discussion on April 15, 2024 about the creation of the TransitStory artwork and learn more about the process behind restoring and integrating this piece into the 45th Street LRT station. This free in-person discussion, hosted by The City of Calgary and Calgary Arts Development, will be followed by a Q&A and attendees are invited to ask questions about this work.

TransitStory showcases 30 sculptures of people fabricated from steel, artfully painted and installed at a transit station. The crowd appears to share a brief moment of time and space with the other commuters embarking and disembarking at the station. In this way, the work seeks to capture the fleeting trace of human presence within public space.

For this event, light snacks and refreshments will be served. Walk-ins are welcome but please register so we are sure to have enough seating.
