I am a born and raised Calgarian, with a finance and accounting career that has spanned over 20 years across multiple industries. My passion for the arts comes through being the father of two daughters for over 24 years, both of whom have had dance play a big part in their lives, with my eldest daughter selecting dance as her chosen career having graduated in 2019 from the University of Calgary with her bachelor of fine arts in dance.
I have not only witnessed the positive impact dance and the arts can have on an individual, group and community, but I have also become aware of the many challenges artists and artistic organizations face through the eyes of my daughters and the dance community.
I am excited about the opportunity to serve on the Calgary Arts Development board and help steward an organization whose sole purpose is to promote, support and grow the arts in Calgary. I believe The City of Calgary’s growing commitment to the arts through Calgary Arts Development will not only help support the many brilliant artists within our city, but also enrich and contribute greatly to the community as a whole. Recognizing and appreciating the diversity of the arts community, I embrace Calgary Arts Development’s commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
