HR Consultant, EDIB

Lisa Hari (she/her/hers) is an IDEA (EDI/DEI) — Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility — leader in Calgary’s social justice community of practice with solid board experience and a passion for the arts.

Lisa is a progressive educator and community activist, with over 20 years of facilitation experience, whose strength in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion is a key success. Lisa brings a strategic mix of anti-racism, anti-oppression education, participatory instructional design, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and organizational effectiveness training to the workplace and community. Lisa sits on the board of the Calgary Folk Festival Society, The Circle – Calgary (former), Calgary Performing Arts Festival (CPAF), and is a founding member of WTEP – We’re Together Ending Poverty. A lifelong learner, Lisa has studied at ACAD (jewelry-making; painting; ceramics), U of C, SAIT, and MRU.

Lisa’s term with the Calgary Folk Music Festival (CFMF) ended with this year’s April AGM. Her contributions and success have been a focus on diversifying the board, starting an Indigenous Advisory Group, and emphasizing IDEA as a core value in the creation of the key pillars in the organization. Last year, Lisa joined the CPAF board with a view to supporting a refreshed vision of the festival and guiding a transition out of the harmful impact of COVID on arts organizations. Lisa was a founding board member of Action Dignity under its original start-up name the Ethno-cultural Council of Calgary, spent three years on the Treaty 7 Community Futures Disability Employment Steering Committee, was a volunteer supporter of Sustainable Calgary for 20-years, and currently sits on the Calgary Stampede Show Horse committee with a passion for heavy horses.

Lisa is currently employed with Trans Mountain Canada as the Senior Advisor, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I).
