Art Bus 2025: See the buses! Meet the artists!
MEDIA ADVISORY
June 9, 2025
For immediate release

(Calgary AB) – Calgary Arts Development is thrilled to launch Art Bus 2025, a project that commissions seven local artists/artist collectives to use public transit buses as their canvas for new original artworks, bringing public art to neighbourhoods across the city.
Following the success of the last year’s project, the number of buses for 2025 has doubled — 14 new art buses (two for each design) will travel city transit routes for the next six months. In addition to the exterior bus wrapping, panels on the inside of each bus share a statement from the artist and show some of their additional artworks.
The official Art Bus 2025 Celebration takes place on Wednesday, June 11 from 11am to 1:30pm along Stephen Avenue downtown, with seven Calgary Transit buses featuring the seven unique artworks on display. Drop by to see the buses inside and out, meet the artists and learn more about the inspiration behind each piece. The celebration will wrap up with brief remarks from the stage (near 1 St. SW).
