Push Play Calgary Year of Music 2016With over 150 music-related events in Calgary this year, it’s easy to see why 2016 has been dubbed the Year of Music.

This spring, Calgary hosts the 45th annual JUNO Awards.

Studio Bell, Home of the National Music Centre opens its doors in the summer.

Cultural institutions are celebrating milestone events, including the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s 60th anniversary, and Mount Royal University continues to welcome music lovers to the new Bella Concert Hall throughout 2016.

The city’s music scene provides some of the most unique experiences in Canada. Internationally celebrated artists perform on Calgary’s renowned stages throughout the year, while the local industry provides memories like visiting Music Mile or checking out Canada Boy Vinyl—Canada’s only vinyl pressing plant.
