Call to Artists: Public Art Project in East Calgary International Avenue
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from artists or artist teams residing in the Treaty 7 area to design and create permanent public artworks for the Community-Informed Public Art Project in East Calgary International Avenue (ECIA). This project centres community voices and lived experiences, with a focus on sharing stories of life in the ECIA that have historically been underrepresented.
The ECIA includes Albert Park/Radisson Heights, Applewood Park, Dover, Erin Woods, Forest Heights, Forest Lawn, Penbrooke Meadows, Red Carpet, Southview, 09Q and a portion of Golden Triangle. Selected artists will work closely with past and present ECIA residents through meaningful engagement, relationship-building and research, with final artworks shaped by the stories, knowledge and connections developed through this process.
Two independent commissions are available: one with a project budget of C$30,000 and one with a project budget of C$90,000 (exclusive of applicable taxes).
Applications must be submitted by April 10, 2026 at 4:30 pm MT.
