Community-Run Public Art Microgrant Recipients Announced
We are excited to announce the latest recipients of Community-Run Public Art Microgrants. Last December, 28 community organizations were selected to each receive a microgrant up to $15,000 for projects to be completed by the end of 2025. Projects range from murals to mini galleries and artist residencies.
This program recognized that public art opportunities can come from grassroots ideas that are initiated and led by communities. Calgary Arts Development invited proposals for community-run public art projects, and organizations in Calgary/Mohkinsstsis applied for funding to hire local artists and create public art in their neighbourhoods.
